B-Side Band 20 let – Jaromír Hnilička: Missa Jazz & Pavel Zlámal: Jazzové variace na svatováclavský chorál

The B-Side Band concert at St. James Church is part of the orchestra’s 20th-anniversary celebrations and will showcase a unique fusion of big band sound and a sacred setting. The program will feature a performance of Jaromír Hnilička’s Missa Jazz in an expanded concert version, as well as the world premiere of Jazz Variations on the St. Wenceslas Chorale by saxophonist and composer Pavel Zlámal. The evening will also feature an exhibition of photographs by Jef and Tina Kratochvíl documenting previous performances of Missa Jazz. The concert represents one of the key projects of the B-Side Band’s anniversary year. Alongside the B-Side Band, the Brno Chamber Orchestra, the Ars Brunensis mixed choir, conductor Dan Kalousek, and soloists will perform.
