Utrecht-based trio .multibeat fuses the worlds of hip-hop and jazz into a distinct, beat-driven sound. Inspired by legends like Robert Glasper and J Dilla, members Boudewijn Pleij (keys), Thijs van Zutphen (bass), and Aron Smit (drums) form the core of a collective that constantly pushes the boundaries of future jazz. Since their 2022 debut album 'Toolbox', the band has carved out an impressive path, highlighted by the album 'Channel Island' and collaborations with a diverse range of artists including Pete Philly, Joya Mooi, and Marcus “Tennishu” Tenney.In the winter of 2026, .multibeat returns to their eclectic underground roots with their third LP 'OOO', marking their first release on the prestigious Berlin-based label Sonar Kollektiv. While previous projects occasionally explored more accessible avenues, this new album reflects their fierce independent spirit and raw live energy.
