The French trio SLIFT from Toulouse have, since 2016, forged an explosive blend of psychedelic rock, stoner rock, space rock and prog, often infused with metal influences and long, hypnotic jams. Their sound shifts between heavy fuzz-drenched riffs, cosmic atmospheres and improvisation-driven structures, earning them international recognition through intense live shows and a viral KEXP session.

With a touch of deliberate irony, SLIFT’s fourth album is titled Fantasia without actually being one. Instead, it stands as their most focused and direct record to date—a sharp reflection on overcoming global unrest, delivered by a band that commits fully without wasting a second. Determined not to lose the message in excessive playing, these eight tracks revolve around trusting the power to fight back, however hidden it may seem.
