Bombino (Goumour Almoctar), born in 1980 in a nomadic Tuareg camp near Agadez (Niger), taught himself to play the guitar during his childhood in exile, inspired by artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Ali Farka Touré. Back in Niger, he developed a style that blends traditional Tuareg rhythms with rock. His songs about peace and hope, in his distinctive style that combines traditional Berber rhythms with the energy of rock & roll, take you on a journey through the cultural heritage of his people.Actor, goat herder, politician and even a private guide for Angelina Jolie during her visit to Niger: Bombino’s CV is wide-ranging. With albums such as ‘Agadez’ (2011) and ‘Deran’ (2018) – the latter earning him a Grammy nomination – he has established himself as a fixture on the world stage.Support: Trackvogels
